Frequently asked questions about value unconditional
FAQ | VU
who does value unconditional serve?
We primarily serve victims and survivors of sexual violence and childhood trauma, but those specific traumas are not a pre-requisite or requirement to become a client with Value Unconditional. While about 85% of our clients are women, there are programs that serve both youth and adults 18+.
are your services only for christians?
No, Christians and non-Christians are all welcome to receive support at VU, regardless of their faith background or beliefs. We believe in providing a safe, shame-free environment where victims and survivors can have their practical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs met by a trauma-capable team who meets them where they are and treats them with compassion, love, dignity and respect.
how much do services cost?
All of our restorative and advocacy services are provided free of charge because of the generous donors and community partners who make those services available for those we serve. There is a cost for receiving training through the education program.
Do you work with kids?
Yes. We offer services for youth through select programs and partnerships. One of the restorative options we have includes a youth support group available for girls ages 14-17 who have experienced any form of sexual violence. We also support minors (kids under 18) that we encounter at the hospital through our victim advocacy program, and support families of youth at an increased risk of sexual exploitation through our early intervention program.
how can i receive your training?
If you're interested in bringing a training to your organization, the best option is to set up a 20-minute discovery call here. You'll have the opportunity to share about your needs, timeline, and what you're hoping to accomplish through the training. Then we'll provide you with a proposal based on what you've shared.
If you're interested in receiving training for yourself, we host 1-2 trainings for the community each month, except July. You can see what's coming up here.
