Value Unconditional Partners with Missouri Attorney General’s Office to Launch Free Medical Training on Identifying Victims of Human Trafficking

Kansas City, MO — Value Unconditional, in partnership with the Missouri Attorney General's Office, has developed a free medical training resource designed to equip healthcare professionals with tools to recognize potential indicators of human trafficking in medical environments.
Created specifically for non-forensic medical professionals—including emergency department staff, nurses, physicians, and frontline healthcare personnel—the training is designed to help providers identify possible trafficking victims early, before engaging forensic teams, law enforcement, or victim advocates.
“Educational tools like this video are essential to improving awareness and outcomes in healthcare settings,” said Rebecca Finke, Forensic Program Manager at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. “By investing in accessible resources, we are not only strengthening collaboration with community partners, but also empowering healthcare professionals to make a meaningful impact. Efforts like this promote understanding, safety, and proper care for those who need it most.”

Though strategically timed for release prior to the World Cup, contributors ensured the content would benefit healthcare providers and medical professionals long after the games have concluded.
The training video is available at no cost and is intended to support hospitals, urgent cares and first responders seeking to improve their response and identification of human trafficking in preparation for World Cup and beyond. The training reflects a shared commitment to equipping professionals to identify and respond to victims of trafficking, while ensuring victims have the best opportunity to access the support and care they need.
